Is Montedison at a crucial turn?

Market rumours claim that Montedison's strong performance (still positive on the year) is linked to restructuring plans for the group. First in the pipeline seem to be the sale of food operations (Eridania) and a scaled-down presence in the Insurance sector (sale of La Fondiaria or Milano Assicurazioni).The focus will be directed completely on the energy sector, merging Edison-Sondel with one of the three Genco that will be spun off by Enel.
