Sul future siamo in piena reazione tecnica in seguito al superamento dei low di periodo. La reazione perderà progressivamente i connotati puramente tecnici se sarà in grando di sospingere il future oltre la banda gialla e oltre 3.70.
La struttura ribassista sembra al momento non completa con 8 onde, evidenziando in turchese quelle di natura correttiva.
Sul P&F ho segnalato in giallo la pericolosa area gialla di vuoto di prezzi verificatasi dopo il cedimento di 3.50.
Lo spread segnala ancora un hedging favorevole all'oil ma proprio il settore del Gas Naturale [AMEX] sembrerebbe assumere un assetto bullish in caso di mantenimento di w-SMA/40.
La volatilità dell'oil, dopo il poderoso strappo rialzista di inizio mese ha quasi completamente chiuso il gap-up configurando un incompleto w-engulf.bear.
In caso di conferma dell'assetto dell'AMEX Nat.Gas e della figura weekly in formazione dell'oil-volatility, si potrebbero avere importanti ripercussioni long sull'equity.

Il crollo verticale dell'indice generale ha causato un ribasso da 11800 circa a 660 circa, capitalizzando una perdita di oltre il 90%, ben superiore alle commodity sottostanti, frantumando senza pull-back tutti i livelli quinquennali ed i low precedenti, permanendo integro solo il lontano minimo 1986.
Dopo tale crollo, formato da 13 onde ribassiste, e dopo aver quasi lambito il low assoluto in close mensile, le quotazioni si sono prima riassestate nell'ampia fascia laterale basale che hanno contenuto l'indice dal 1985 al 2002, formando una conca di inversione sul low dell'ultimo quarto 2008, portando i corsi a fare un primo top di recupero a quota 2300, proprio nella fascia statica chiave centrata sui 2000. La successiva fase ribassista è stato un assestamento sulla d-sma/50 (= w-sma/10), con ri-slancio dei corsi a superare w-sma/40 fino al nuovo top in area 4000, fuoriuscendo al rialzo dalla banda basale e arrivando a testare l'importante set-up (close-monthly) tra i due canali evidenziati sul primo chart.
La plausibile prosecuzione della ABC correttiva rialzista delle precedenti 13 impulsive ribassiste, vedrebbe come secondo target la II fascia statica centrata su 5250. Questo target ovviamente deve comportare la tenuta della w-sma/10 nuovamente in test da parte dei corsi dopo il recente top di area 4000.
Se dovesse essere confermata tale struttura allora quella in allungamento rialzista su tenuta di w-sma/10 sarenne la V di A alla quale seguirebbe una B violenta, ribassista, post-estiva ma che non rinnoverebbe nuovi low assoluti dell'indice; a questa poi seguirebbe un nuovo correttivo rialzista (C) a conclusione della ABD correttiva delle 13 ribassiste precedenti.
Negazione di tale struttura in caso di failure sul ri-cross della 4000 line, con ri-accensione di forti pressioni bear sull'indice.
RSI/11 weekly ha raggiunto l'ipercomprato in coincidenza del top in area 4000. La successiva correzione ha rispettato al momento la 50-line, fattore propedeutico alla concomitante tenuta della w-sma/10. In caso tale assetto venga convalidato si procederebbe verso un importante top dell'indice con plausibile divergenza dell'RSI a fine corsa e innesco quindi del correttivo B.
In caso di cedimento della 50-line allora la tenuta di w-sma/10 risulterebbe molto a rischio con plausibile failure sulla 4000-line dell'indice.
Gli altri oscillatori weekly confermano l'attuale assetto rialzista dell'indice.
Di estremo interesse è la figura rialzista in via di formazione che si evince dal chart dell'indice gemello Philadelphia Marine Shipping Index, associata al doppio low imperfetto, ma già convalidato, visibile sull'ETF Claymore specifico dello Shipping Sector.

Un breve sguardo ai chart dei sub-indici principali del Baltic Dry Index può esser utile per eseguire stock-picking nello shipping.
Si consideri che di sottoindici ve ne sono molti altri separati anche per settore merceologico.
Il Capesize racchiude i tonnellaggi superiori o uguali a 100000. Dal chart si evince che ha subito un ribasso nettamente maggiore dell'indice generale, con i corsi finiti sotto la statica chiave basale a 5 anni. Il recupero è stato però altrettanto poderoso in quanto ha raggiunto e per breve tempo superato la statica sul low I quadrimestre-2008. Attualmente è in test della 5000-line e la struttura permarrà rialzista se verrà rispettato il top del I quadrimestre 2009; in tal caso l'obiettivo sarebbe la base del rettangolo rialzista blu.
Il Panamax (60000/80000) ed il Supramax (45000/59000), a differenza dell'indice maggiore e del precedente Capesize hanno conseguito il top nel 2007 e non nel 2008, anticipando il ribasso degli indici maggiori. Sono strutturalmente molto simili ed hanno subito un ribasso certamente meno imponente rispetto al primo sub-indice. Ambedue sono in test ascendente delle rispettive fasce basali statiche, il superamento delle quali garantirebbe un target pari alla base del canale rosso discendente. La struttura del rialzo dal low è abbastanza sovrapposta (correttivo ?) e il recente ribasso estivo è poco accennato rispetto al Capesize.
Handysize (15000/35000) mostra la stessa collocazione dei top rispetto al Capesize, nonostante abbia il tonnellaggio inferiore. Mostra perdite top/low sensibilmente inferiori all'indice generale ed ai diversi sub-indici. La fase di congestione degli ultimi mesi (canalicolo ascendente) è determinante per l'evoluzione prossima dell'Handysize: in caso di rottura rialzista il target I sarebbe la statica sul low I trimestre 2007.

Per gli specialisti del settore riporto il chart del Baltic Exchange Dirty Tanker Index (B.D.T.I.), composto dalle shipping routes specifiche del Crude Oil, e il settore alternativo Clean, Baltic Exchange Clean Tanker (B.C.T.I.). Ricordo poi un recente sotto-indice del BDTI, il Baltic Liquid Petroleum Gas Assessment (B.L.P.G.) per il quale non ho chart aggiornati.

Per completare l'analisi grafica del Baltic Dry Index, passo in rassegna i principali indici alternativi di Shipping emessi dalla Capital Maritime. Si nota subito un aspetto decisamente più conservativo rispetto al BDI, sia al rialzo che al ribasso. Ciò è particolarmente visibile nella comparazione dell'indice generale col BDI. La componente che ha maggiormente subito il ribasso è quella dei Dry Bulks (2) mentre i Tankers (3) hanno subito in misura minore.
La composizione degli indici Capital Maritime Indexes è la seguente.

Data la giovane età di impiego (personale) di questo indicatore, non ne conosco la reale potenza d'utilizzo, ma ri-evidenzio (vedi post precedente) le aree grafiche di interesse (timing) ricondotte ai due componenti stessi.
Dette aree pare siano anticipatrici sullo spread dei bottom sul ND/100.
Sarebbe auspicabile un back-test di lungo periodo (10 y) al fine di meglio studiare l'indicatore ottenuto.
Per un raffronto, si pubblicano gli spreads per altri primari equity indexes.

Ciao Salvi,
mi sono permesso di fare una aggiunta al tuo grafico, indicando 2 target per questo rialzo derivanti dal canale creatosi.
Basta prendere la metà del canale e il minimo da cui parte il movimento e proiettare questo segmento dalla metà del canale verso l'alto (questo è il t2), il t1, invece, è l'87.5% del segmento in oggetto.
L'importante è che durante la corsa verso l'alto non rompa al ribasso la metà del canale.

mi sono permesso di fare una aggiunta al tuo grafico, indicando 2 target per questo rialzo derivanti dal canale creatosi.
Basta prendere la metà del canale e il minimo da cui parte il movimento e proiettare questo segmento dalla metà del canale verso l'alto (questo è il t2), il t1, invece, è l'87.5% del segmento in oggetto.
L'importante è che durante la corsa verso l'alto non rompa al ribasso la metà del canale.

Fantastico momento per il gas naturale, che si conferma come il mercato più interessante di questi periodi dal punto di vista tecnico.
Si è instaurata ora una lotta grafica tra un doppio massimo ed un doppio minimo, segno di una fortissima area di tensione sui prezzi del future ben percepita dal mercato.
Lo spread col West Texas L.C.O. è in fase di compressione sui minimi con segni di via di fuga verso l'altro.
