Career Education Corp. (NASDAQ:CECO) has tanked by more than 38 percent so far today after the company announced that its chief executive officer Gary McCullough has resigned. Current chairman Steven Lesnik will now take the reigns at the company until a full time replacement is found. The announcement came after the company reported significantly lower quarterly earnings and revenue. An independent counsel of the company also confirmed allegations that come of the company’s school’s had engaged in improper school placement practices. Career Educations Corp. currently trades at $9.75 per share.
