GM Launches New Mini Car: Expects Surge In Sales This Year

(RTTNews) - General Motors India launched the 1.2 litre petrol mini car--Chevrolet Beat in New Delhi Monday. Beat is the second car from GM's 300 series platform, the first being the utility vehicle Chevrolet Cruze launched last year, say reports. With this launch, the company expects to increase its total sales this year to 100,000 units from 70,000 last year.

The mini car would be available in three variants, namely, PS, LS and LT, with price ranging from Rs.325,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the PS variant, Rs.354,000 for the LS and Rs.394,000 for the LT variant.
After the launch, GM India President and Managing Director Karl Slym said: "With its best-in-segment design, performance and safety, the Beat is destined to become an industry benchmark and a winner among consumers in India." The company is also planning to export around 20% of the produce by December-end to Europe and the Asia-Pacific, Slym said, adding that it would launch the diesel version of Beat later this year.

The car will be launched across 150 countries in the coming months. As of now, Beat has been launched in Korea, Europe and West Asia, with Korea's sales accounting for 5,000 units a month. General Motors Vice-President (Global Design) Edward T Welburn said the company was also working on designing and developing a small car for India at its Bangalore center. The Bangalore design center employs around 60 engineers, and is one of the 10 such centers of General Motors worldwide.

Questa è stata la mia preoccupazione principale negli ultimi 12 mesi da obbligazionista GM !!!!!

Diritti allo swap a parte, perchè non provate ad ipotizzare un valore del recovery sulla base del prezzo dei titoli dei concorrenti. Ford è certamente il parametrto più adatto A febbraio 2009 in piena crisi quotava attorno a 1.50 usd ora ne vale oltre 10,80. A mio giudizio i conti finora fatti non rispecchiano questa potente rivalutazione del mercato e non tengono pienamente conto dell'effetto leva degli warrants. In condizioni favorevoli di mercato io ritengo che il recovery sarà dal 50% in sù nei primi sei mesi dal collocamento.
