SAP has strong order book despite crisis - report SHARE: MORE Email Print Comment 0 By Frankfurt Bureau FRANKFURT -(MarketWatch)- German software company SAP AG SAP +3.10% has so far been little affected by the financial market turbulence, Robert Enslin, SAP president of global sales, tells Swiss newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft in an interview published Wednesday. The company's orders are strong, Enslin says, particularly for mobility and in-memory products. SAP is better able to withstand the financial crisis now than it was in 2008 because, at that time, it was heavily dependent on its main product as well as large orders, Enslin is cited as saying. "In the meantime we are, in many ways, much more diversified," Enslin says, adding the company's financial position has also improved significantly since then. "Only nine months after the Lehman collapse, companies started to invest in information technology again, and are continuing to do so," he is quoted as saying. Companies have to invest in hardware and software to avoid falling behind, he says, adding data volumes are constantly increasing. In China, SAP's main challenge is meeting demand, he said. "SAP currently employs 3,000 staff in China and it could soon be 6,000 if the company finds people who are appropriately qualified," Enslin says, according to the article. At 1112 GMT, SAP shares were up 2.2% at EUR38.68. Article website: Finanz und Wirtschaft - ePaper |

SAP AG (SAP) CEO Reassures On Euro-Debt Impact, Stock Adds About 1%
Posted: Wednesday, September 28, 2011 12:42 PM EDT SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) opened at $52.78. So far today, the stock has hit a low of $51.80 and a high of $53.18. SAP is now trading at $51.83, up $.49 (0.95%). Over the last 52 weeks the stock has ranged from a low of $46.70 to a high of $68.39. The company's CEO told a Swiss newspaper that the company is more diversified than it was on 2008 and that has not been impacted by the European debt crisis. Technical indicators for the stock are bullish and S&P gives SAP a positive 4 STARS (out of 5) buy ranking. If you are looking for a hedged play on SAP the stock seems like it could be a candidate for a December out-of-the-money bull-put credit spread below the 38 range.
