ad un passo dal baratro...

La notizia non è stata 'nascosta',quello, no.
Ma neanche ha ricevuto la giusta enfasi.
.
MADRID — Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero narrowly survived a parliamentary vote on Thursday on his plans to cut an additional 15 billion euros ($18.5 billion) in spending, setting the stage for tough budget talks this year that could result in early elections in Spain.

Mr. Zapatero secured lawmakers’ approval for his spending cuts by a single vote: 169 to 168.
But there were also 13 abstentions from lawmakers of the smaller parties, who emphasized that they had stayed on the sidelines only to avoid rattling financial markets further and risking a Greek-style debt crisis in Spain.

.
UN SOLO VOTO !!!! Se quella legge non fosse passata.....
temo oggi saremmo nella melma sino al collo...

qualche particolare in più.
My hosts kindly explained the closeness of the vote (a Basque party with seven members of parliament decided to vote against the plan rather than abstaining), and the inter-connected nature of the world was laid bare once more.
.
It is not too much of a stretch, I think, to say that the eurozone came close to catastrophe today thanks to a Basque nationalist called Iñigo Urkullu. He can be seen here explaining that his party, PNV, would be voting no because the austerity plan did not take into account the special circumstances of the Basque country
.
riassumendo per colpa di 4 imbeci
poteva succedere un cataclisma in Europa (e non solo).
