BEIJING -(Dow Jones)- The Group of Eight isn't representative enough and international mechanisms must represent all kinds of nations, China Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei said Thursday.

He made the remarks at a news briefing to discuss President Hu Jintao's visit to Italy next week, where he is scheduled to attend the G8 summit in L'Aquila from July 8 to 10, following a four-day official visit to the country.

He will then go to Portugal for a two-day state visit.
