la crisi ..non c'è..secondo Bono
Non lo so. A me puzza di bruciato. Che si parli dell'Italia, all'estero,
ogni giorno sui giornali 'autoreovoli' mi pare..esagerato o..orchestrato . Italy and France draw fire over aid By Richard Lapper in Cape Town Published: June 10 2009 19:20 | Last updated: June 10 2009 23:55 A leading development lobby group has condemned Italy and France for failing to meet targets to increase aid to sub-Saharan Africa and called on the G7 and other international organisations to take sanctions against such breaches in future. “Rules should be agreed to ensure that such countries shouldn’t be allowed to attend or chair important international meetings in the future, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() if the system is to retain any credibility,” said Jamie Drummond, co-founder and executive director of One, the group that counts rock star Bono among its founders. Fellow star Bob Geldof is an adviser. One made the call as it published a new report assessing the progress of G7 countries in meeting targets to increase aid to Africa made at the Gleneagles Summit in 2005. While five other G7 members had beaten or are striving to meet targets, France’s delivery was “disappointing” and Italy’s performance an “utter failure”. The report is especially scathing about Italy, which currently chairs the G8 group. It has delivered only about 3 per cent of the increase it promised in 2005. Consultations with Rome reveal it is planning to cut, not increase, assistance in the future, says the report. Italy promised to increase its aid from $1.4bn in 2004 to $5.08bn in 2010, but by the end of last year was paying only $1.57bn. “Based on its performance against the Gleneagles commitments, it has no credibility to host discussions of such global importance,” said Mr Drummond. One’s projections show that the G7 countries as a whole will by the end of 2009 have delivered about half of their 2010 promise, with Italy and France responsible for 80 per cent of the shortfall. Mr Drummond described the record of governments led by Silvio Berlusconi, ..Beh citare Berlusconi fa fico in questo momento ![]() its prime minister, who was one of the signatories to the Gleneagles government, as particularly poor. He said that Italy’s prime minister “needs to be censured by his peers”. .ah ecco che deve essere censurato addirittura... ![]() . Italy responded to the report by saying it did not deny the figures which were due to “financial constraints”. However, the foreign ministry said Italy remained committed to its pledges. “We had to scale down the percentage of state aid, but we are fully committed to the objectives set at Gleneagles,” said spokesman Maurizio Massari. French overseas development assistance to sub-Saharan Africa had increased slightly since 2004, but declined between 2007 and 2008 and further cuts were planned this year, said the report. That performance shows for the first time that the country is a smaller donor to Africa than Germany. “Given the country’s historical and cultural links to the region this is extraordinary,” said Mr Drummond. In 2005, the G7 promised to increase aid to sub-Saharan Africa by a total of $21.5bn by 2010. But by the end of 2008 only $7bn had been added with a projected $3.5bn in the pipeline. Lower than expected inflows of aid hit Africa hard at a time when private credit markets were largely closed to the region. Bill Gates, a backer of One and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, told the FT: “The financial crisis only underlines the importance of the G8 keeping their promises on investing in development and health, even as keeping those promises becomes harder .
