Ciao a tutti. Sto cercando di valutare la velocità delle mie due porte USB3 (notebook acer e 15 E5-573G)
Ho eseguito diverse prove sia sotto ubuntu 16.04 sia sotto windows 10 usando i seguenti due harddisk usb3:
toshiba 0480:b001 500gb
western digital 1058:25a2 2TB
La seconda colonna definisce il Vendor:device id.

Dalle prove il toshiba (occupato per 1/3 della capacità) è più lento del wd (occupato per il 2% della capacità)

Ho usato il comando rsync -avvi *.mp4 /media/username/externaldrive/prova copiando una decina di file mp4 per un totale di circa 4.2Gb
Dopo ogni prova cancellavo e ricreavo sul disco testato la cartella 'prova'

CONCLUSIONI
Le due porte USB3 sembrano avere al massimo una velocità doppia rispetto all'unica porta USB2. E rispetto agli standard USB3, anche tenendo conto che i dati teorici sono sempre molto lontani dai dati reali, mi sembra siano scadenti, non vedo questi grandi vantaggi rispetto all'USB2, almeno sul mio notebook
Inoltre, pur tenendo conto che ho usato due diverse modalità di test tra ubuntu e windows, sotto windows sembra che la velocità sia maggiore rispetto ad ubuntu.
Sto sbagliando qualcosa ?

CONCLUSIONI
Le due porte USB3 sembrano avere al massimo una velocità doppia rispetto all'unica porta USB2. E rispetto agli standard USB3, anche tenendo conto che i dati teorici sono sempre molto lontani dai dati reali, mi sembra siano scadenti, non vedo questi grandi vantaggi rispetto all'USB2, almeno sul mio notebook
Inoltre, pur tenendo conto che ho usato due diverse modalità di test tra ubuntu e windows, sotto windows sembra che la velocità sia maggiore rispetto ad ubuntu.
